Indian billet shipments slump in July
Indian semi-finished product exports, the majority of which were mild steel billet, slumped -23% on-year in July to 126,696 tonnes, according to Indian commerce ministry data monitored by Kallanish.
Shipments to Nepal rose 10.7% to 108,538t, Kenya took in 9,283t versus zero in July 2017, and Malaysia took in 2,831t versus virtually zero. However, the Philippines took in zero versus 41,941t.
