Indian billet exports surge in February
Indian semi-finished steel exports, the majority of which were billet, jumped 35% on-year in February to 310,155 tonnes, according to Indian commerce ministry provisional data seen by Kallanish. They were also up 6% from January.
The average value of HS code 720719 billet exports was $515/tonne, up from $409/t in February 2020 but down from $520/t in January.
