Indian billet exports skirt 1mt again in June
Indian semi-finished product exports, the majority of which were billet, almost hit 1 million tonnes for a second consecutive month in June thanks again to demand from China. The shipments of 969,419 tonnes were up 488% on-year, Kallanish learns from Indian commerce ministry provisional data.
The average value of HS code 720719 billet exports was $353/tonne versus $462/t in June 2019 and $355/t in May 2020.
