Indian 2019 scrap imports increase despite fourth-quarter slump
Indian imports of ferrous scrap under HS code 7204 declined for a fourth consecutive month in December 2019, by -20% on-year to 482,034 tonnes, Kallanish learns from Indian commerce ministry provisional data. The average value of imported obsolete scrap under HS code 720449 was $299/tonne versus $370/t in December 2018.
