India to see steepest demand slump in decades

Indian finished steel demand is forecast to slump -20.2% on-year in 2020 to 81.9 million tonnes, returning India to third, behind the US, in the list of top steel-consuming countries, according to worldsteel. The forecast compares to worldsteel’s previous projection made in June of an -18% demand contraction.
