India to examine reducing iron ore export duty
Rising concerns and requests from Indian iron ore miners to withdraw the 50% duty on iron ore exports have caught the attention of Indian authorities. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) says it will examine the requests to zero the duty, Kallanish notes.
“We have received some representation from the industry but they will be examined at the right time,” CBIC chairman Vivek Johri informed local media.
