Vietnam drives Indian steel exports
According to the Indian Ministry of Steel, in October India exported 950,000 tonnes of finished steel, representing a 60% year-on-year increase. HRC exports to Vietnam has been the key driver this year, Kallanish notes.
During the first seven months of the Indian fiscal year, April-October, accumulated exports of steel climbed 27.7% y-o-y to 4.88 million tonnes. India appears to have targeted the Vietnamese market in particular.
