India launches complaint against US tariffs
India has requested through the World Trade Organization direct consultations with the US over its imposition of 25% and 10% import tariffs on steel.
Besides the various US presidential proclamations on import adjustments made since March, India takes issue with the requirement for submissions requesting exclusions from the 232 tariffs. The country also objects to Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962.
