India hikes scrap imports from UAE
Indian imports of ferrous scrap under HS code heading 7204 rose 1% on-year in July to 591,183 tonnes, Kallanish learns from Indian commerce ministry data.
The US and United Arab Emirates increased supply 4.4% and 71% respectively to 136,683t and 77,063t, but intake from the UK fell -22.6% to 55,276t. Intake from Singapore and South Africa rose 157.8% and 5.7% respectively to 43,415t and 28,573t. However, intake from Australia and Hong Kong fell.
