India demand growth to exceed 7%: steel association

The Indian Steel Association (ISA) forecasts domestic steel demand to grow 7.5% on-year in the fiscal year through March 2024 (FY24) to 128.85 million tonnes. This should be followed by 6.3% growth the following year. “In an otherwise gloomy global economic environment, India has been a bright spot, defying global trends,” ISA says in a note sent to Kallanish.
