India competition authority approves JSW's BMM Ispat acquisition
India’s competition authority says it has given approval to JSW Projects’ acquisition of a majority shareholding in BMM Ispat.
BMM Ispat has been producing iron ore pellet since 2012. In 2017 it gave Primetals the final acceptance certificate for its supply of a 1 million tonnes/year electric arc furnace meltshop and 850,000 t/y merchant bar mill (see Kallanish passim). It had earlier sourced a 1.1m t/y billet caster from SMS.
