Increasing costs push up Turkish rebar quotes
Turkish mills have increased rebar quotes in domestic and export markets this week amid rising costs. Besides costlier energy, sharp scrap hikes are pushing up steelmaking costs further.
Scrap has continued to increase in new bookings (see separate story).
Turkish mills’ rebar export quotes, which stood at $670-675/tonne fob Turkey a week ago, are up to $680-690/t fob actual weight, with $700/t fob even quoted by some producers.
