Ferrous futures rebound as coal controls ease
Due to the signals of loosening coal price control measures, Chinese market sentiment has begun to rise. This led to a slight rebound in Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures on Wednesday, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the January 2022 rebar contract closed CNY 279/tonne higher than Tuesday at CNY 4,385/t ($686/t), and the same contract for HRC closed up CNY 225/t at CNY 4,782/t.
