Improved productivity raises Vale Oman third-quarter pellet output
Vale’s Oman-based iron ore pelletising plant saw production rise 7% on-year in the third quarter to 2.49 million tonnes due to higher productivity at its two units, Kallanish learns from the Brazilian miner.
The production was also up 27.7% from Q2 due to a 37-day scheduled maintenance stoppage in one of the plant’s lines in April and May. The Oman plant thus brought to an end two consecutive quarters of sequential decline.
