US Imports post increase from June to July
Both total and finished steel import tonnage appears to have ticked up significantly from June to July, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
Citing data from the US Department of Commerce, AISI reports July import applications totalling 3.198 million short tons, up 7% from June’s permit total and 22% from June’s preliminary import count.
Finished steel import permits were 2.439m st, up 10% from June.
