Imports dominate Poland's flats market, says steel association
In the first half of 2020 Polish apparent steel consumption fell -10% on-year to 6.25 million tonnes, with imports also down -10% to 5mt. Exports fell more steeply, by -17% to 2.6mt, according to Polish Steel Association (HIPH) head Stefan Dzienniak.
The share of imports in consumption thus rose to 74% in H1, with imports’ share in flat products consumption as high as 92%.
