Union asks thyssenkrupp workers to vote on merger

Germany’s IG Metall union sent out invitations on 5 January to its 20,000 members among the 27,000 workers of thyssenkrupp Steel to vote on the projected merger with Tata Steel Europe. The vote is essentially about the conditions negotiated by the union with thyssenkrupp’s management in December.
