IDC suffers loss despite higher revenue
Izmir Demir Celik (IDC)’s revenue increased 11.7% on-year in January-March. This was due to increasing steel demand in the Turkish domestic market in the first quarter before the negative impacts of the coronavirus outbreak were seen.
The Turkish electric arc furnace-based steelmaker reported a 9.7% on-year increase in finished product sales in January-March to 342,919 tonnes, Kallanish learns from the firm. Exports rose 45% to 135,552t.
