Hyundai Steel to sell Dangjin equipment, including EAFs
South Korea's Hyundai Steel has decided to sell some facilities including the electric arc furnaces of its Dangjin steelworks. The plan has been communicated to the company union, Kallanish notes.
Some equipment that cannot be sold will be treated as scrap. Some 275 workers at the plant will be assigned to other departments. After the area is emptied of equipment, it will be used for storing scrap and finished products.
