Hyundai restarts blast furnace
South Korea's Hyundai Steel‘s No. 1 blast furnace restarted full production on 1 July, according to local news. This is earlier than previously expected, Kallanish notes.
The blast furnace volume is 5,250 cubic metres and its daily production has recovered 98% to 10,800 tonnes/day. The furnace had seen uneven temperatures, with some parts of its load falling below 1,500 degrees Celsius.
