Huta Czestochowa restarts meltshop, plate mill within days
ISD Huta Czestochowa (HCz) has restarted its electric arc furnace meltshop and plans to resume its heavy plate mill within days, a representative of the steelworks' lessee, Sunningwell International Polska, tells Kallanish.
Last month Sunningwell agreed to lease HCz for 12 months, beating off competition from Cognor and Liberty Steel (see Kallanish passim). One condition of the agreement was that production had to be restarted in October.
