Hubei Lijin upgrades EAF steelmaking equipment
The Hubei provincial Economy & Information Commission has issued a notice about Lijin Iron & Steel's capacity replacement on 14 November. According to the announcement Lijin is replacing three electric arc furnaces or 2.06 million tonnes/year of steel capacity with two 100-tonne EAFs, Kallanish notes. The new capacity will be 2m t/y.
