Hubei Daye commissions new bar mill
Central China’s Hubei Daye Special Steel completed an ignition test on its new 900,000 tonnes/year bar mill on 19 September, says project contractor China First Metallurgical Group, part of China Metallurgical Corporation (MCC).
Daye, which is part of Hong Kong-listed Citic, says the CNY 1.1 billion plant will be able to roll bars with diameters of 50-130mm in bearing steel, automotive steels and steel for military use.
