Huaxi Special Steel to enter plate market
Huaxi Special Steel in China’s Hebei Province has submitted an environmental impact assessment (EIA) report for a medium and thick plate project to related authorities, Kallanish notes.
The project includes a 3,800mm plate mill and requires investment of over CNY 5.47 billion ($760 million). Meanwhile, a slab caster will be added, replacing the current small billet caster.
Construction is expected to last 18 months, but the start time has not been disclosed…
