Huaiye Technology commissions EAF in Uzbekistan
On 28 August Jiangsu Huaiye Technology commissioned one 30-tonne electric arc furnace at its new plant in Uzbekistan. The plant has successfully produed the first 20t batch of rebars using billet from the EAF, Kallanish notes.
The project took six months to construct an EAF, refining furnaces and a caster. Huaiye decided to set up Lida Metal Technology in Uzbekistan in August 2017 with support from China's Belt and Road policies.
