Hu Wangming proposes China scrap recycling improvement
Hu Wangming, chairman of Baowu Group, has proposed to establish and improve the recycling system for waste, including scrap in the steel industry, to reduce carbon emissions.
During the “Two Sessions” meeting in Beijing this week, he stated that scrap recycling accounts for 22% of steel output in China. National Development and Reform Commission director Zheng Shanjie meanwhile said that China used approximately 260 million tonnes of scrap in 2023.
