HSJ revamp work, tighter spreads hamper Cognor performance
Cognor’s sales fell by 47,600 tonnes or -22% on-year in the third quarter, with finished product sales down 32,000t or -22.9% and semi-finished product deliveries down 7,700t or -24%, the firm says without providing final sales tonnages.
Production and sales fell in the quarter due to a longer-than-expected revamp at the firm’s Huta Stali Jakosciowych (HSJ) steelworks. As part of Cognor’s 2018-2020 development, HSJ is modernising its SBQ mill. …
