HRC prices begin to soften in US market
Hot rolled coil prices are beginning to soften in the US market. Mills are working to lock in prices at the historic highs of recent weeks, but buyers, expecting a dip, are preferring to buy on the spot market.
The weekly hot-rolled price maintained by Kallanish is being lowered by $20/short ton to $1,920-1,940/st, ex-works, domestic mill. The cold-rolled price is stable at $2,150-2,200/st.
