HMS scrap prices fall in Asia
The Taiwanese scrap import market fell during the last seven days, Kallanish notes. Many Taiwanese mills have withdrawn from buying scrap this week.
A leading Taiwanese mill booked containerised HMS 1&2 80:20 US scrap at $342-345/tonne cfr Taiwan, Taiwanese trading sources say. But many mills are preferring to delay their buying and are not bidding this week. Deals had peaked at $355-357/t cfr two weeks ago.
