Higher steel prices drive Worthington profit increase
US steel processor and fabricator Worthington Industries saw a year-on-year uptick in its fiscal 2019 first-quarter earnings, partially due to generally higher steel prices, Kallanish reports.
Worthington earned $54.9 million on sales of $988.1m in the quarter ended 31 August, up from earnings of $45.5m on sales of $848.2m last year.
