Higher productivity, feed availability lift Vale Oman output
Vale’s Oman-based iron ore pelletising plant saw production bounce back in the second quarter, rising 8.8% on-year to 2.12 million tonnes thanks to higher plant productivity and greater feed availability. This followed a -6.8% slump in Q1. Output in Q2 was, however, down -3.8% on-quarter.
Pellet output at the Oman plant in the first half of 2018 thus inched up 0.3% on-year to 4.32mt.
