Higher prices boost Hadeed first-quarter earnings
Saudi Iron & Steel Company (Hadeed) reported an 8% on-year rise in revenue in the first quarter to SAR 2.98 billion ($794.7 million), thanks to a 26% growth in average sales price. Shipments however fell 18%, Hadeed parent company Sabic says without providing tonnages.
Ebitda was SAR 620m versus only SAR 8m a year earlier, and the firm also turned to an income from operations of SAR 330m versus a year-earlier loss of SAR 210m.
