Hiap Teck's net loss narrows in 1Q
Malaysian steel maker Hiap Teck Venture has posted a lower net loss in the absence of write-down of inventories, Kallanish notes.
The group says in a bourse filing that its net losses for the first financial quarter narrowed to MYR 9.43 million ($2.02m) in the first quarter from MYR 49.14m a year ago.
The improvement was due to last year's financial results including a write-down of inventories of MYR 27.44m.
