Hebei Yongyang commissions light rail rolling line
Hebei Yongyang Special Steel Group (Hebei Yongyang) has put its boutique light rail rolling line into production. This is the first light rail universal continuous rolling line in China, Kallanish notes.
CISDI Group, one of the core subsidiaries of MCC under China Minmetals, is in charge of supplying the core rolling mill process, equipment and control technology of the line. MCC Tiangong Group was responsible for the line construction, which started on 6 June 2019 and was originally expected to be completed in May 2020.
The project covers an area of about 9.9 acres in Yongnian District, in Hebei’s Handan City, with an investment of CNY 1 billion ($146 million). Its design capacity is 600,000 tonnes/year of light rail, mining I-beam, fish plate, H-beam and other products.
Hebei Yongyang, established in 1993, produces all types of industrial rails used for mining or other industrial projects. The company now has the capacity to produce 1.16 million tonnes/year of pig iron, 1.2m t/y of crude steel, and 2.2m t/y of special sections.
