Hanzhong Steel hot tests billet caster
Hanzhong Iron & Steel in Shaanxi province has hot tested a caster for its electric arc furnace project last week, Kallanish notes.
The steelmaker had announced it would to build a 75-tonne EAF, two ladle furnaces, and a billet caster in order to produce 700,000 tonnes/year of billet following completion of this project. The total investment involved is CNY 660 million ($96.5m).
