Hanzhong Steel commissions EAF project
Shaanxi province’s Hanzhong Iron & Steel has begun to commission its new electric arc furnace facility last week, Kallanish notes.
It is installing one 75-tonne alloy steel EAF, one 80-t ladle furnace, one 80-t VD furnace, a continuous caster and a scrap processing system. The capacity of the new EAF is 575,000 tonnes/year, and the facility is estimated to have 700,000 t/y of steel billet capacity.
