Hangda Steel trials new rebar mill
Sichuan Hangda Steel, a subsidiary of Derun Iron & Steel Group, has put its new plant into trial production. The plant houses a 100-tonne ultra-high-power electric arc furnace (EAF) and a rebar mill, Kallanish notes.
After commencing official production, the EAF will have the ability to produce 1 million tonnes/year of crude steel. Hangda Steel will fully utilise the output to secure its rebar capacity of 950,000 t/y.
