Hangang looks to commission EAF in October
A director of the electric arc furnace (EAF) project at Hanzhong Iron & Steel (Hangang), part of Shaanxi Iron & Steel, says that the steelmaker plans to commission the equipment in October. Project construction was begun at the end of last year, Kallanish notes.
Hangang will invest a total of CNY 660 million ($93.62 million) in the facility. The company is demolishing one 420-cubic metre blast furnace and one 40-tonne converter. …
