Handan Steel hot tests new 3,500mm plate line
Hebei Iron & Steel (HBIS) subsidiary Handan Iron & Steel (Hangang or Handan Steel) successfully hot tested its new 3,500mm plate line on Tuesday, according to the contractor Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Limited (CERI).
The new line has a design capacity of 2 million tonnes/year of steel plate, Kallanish notes. CERI claims the 14-month construction period is an industry record.
