Handan uses more restrictions to attack steel pollution
Hebei province’s Handan city local government implemented new restrictions on the steel industry on 26 January 2020 to limit pollution, Kallanish notes.
The regulations say that steelmakers need to limit production from sintering machines, pelletising machines and blast furnaces until 29 February. Some steelmakers can restart 50% of sintering and pelletising machine capacity after having halted production for 48 hours.
