Handan cuts iron output on restrictions
Handan in Hebei Province has started a seven-day production restriction in the first week of November, which will cut local iron output.
A-class steelmakers, which normally avoid production restrictions, will have to reduce production by 20% from blast furnaces during the period, Kallanish notes. B-class and C-class steelmakers will face 50% and 70% restrictions on BF output, and D-class steel mills need to stop the operation of BFs completely.
