Handan announces 2021-2022 winter restriction plan
Handan in Hebei Province has detailed the steel industry's transformation plan in the next two months, to meet this year's national requirements.
Some 20 1,000m³ or smaller blast furnaces and 20 converters under 100 tonnes at local steelmakers need to be closed by end-2021, Kallanish notes. Meanwhile, an 800,000 tonnes/year coke oven of Xinxing Pipe is also required to shut down.
