Hadeed leads Mid-East output surge in May
Crude steel output in the four Middle Eastern countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report surged 15.2% on-year in May to 3 million tonnes, Kallanish learns from worldsteel.
For the first time in many months output grew in all four countries. Saudi Arabia’s largest producer, Hadeed, recorded the fastest growth In May, at 37.8% to 447,000t. January-May output was, however, still down -1.5% on-year to 2.09mt.
