Gulf Alloys to build latest Oman ferrochrome smelter
Gulf Alloys and Metals has signed an agreement to establish a 10,000 tonnes/year capacity low-carbon ferrochrome smelter in Sohar Freezone, Oman. The project is worth $9 million.
Neither of the two parties could be contacted before deadline for further comment.
Local media reports, however, say the smelter will occupy 37,000m2 of land and use locally-mined chrome ore as feedstock.
