Guizhou's Sipu Ferroalloy halts production of ferrochrome
Guizhou province's Sipu Ferroalloy Company has stopped one 8,000 kVA refining furnace producing high carbon ferrochrome for refurbishment, Kallanish notes.
The company has made this decision because of the weak market for high carbon ferrochrome. Due to lack of confidence in the future, it has also decided to halt another 125,000 kVA refining furnace. This means all of the plants furnaces will no longer be operating.
