Guangxi Steel constructs 400mm continuous slab caster
China’s Guangxi Iron & Steel has started the construction of its No.3 continuous slab caster, which is a major part of its 3,800mm plate line project.
According to the building and installation contract with MCC Tiangong Group Corporation Limited, this is the world’s first dual-strand continuous slab caster set up to produce plate in a thickness of 400mm, Kallanish notes.
