Graphite India idles Bangalore plant for environmental revamp
Graphite India (GIL) will idle sequentially up to end-October all the furnace at its Bangalore (Bengaluru) plant in order to carry out revamping work to address environmental concerns. The firm expects this work to be completed by end-November.
Following an inspection into the plant’s harmful emissions, the Karnataka State Pollution Board identified four areas that needed addressing, three of which GIL managed to rectify immediately.
