GrafTech sees "dramatic" profit increase in Q1
US graphite electrode producer GrafTech International returned to profitability year on year in the first quarter, Kallanish understands.
The company reported a net profit of $223.67 million on sales of just $451.9m in Q1, up from a loss of $26.34m on sales of $104.74m in Q1 2017. The company attributes that “dramatic” year on year gain to higher realised pricing.
