Government provides boost for Dofasco’s DRI, EAF transition

With support from Canada's federal government, ArcelorMittal Dofasco plans to transition away from integrated steelmaking with a CAD 1.8 billion ($1.4 billion) investment. The flatrolled producer will build a 2.5 million tonne direct reduced iron facility and a 2.4mt/year electric arc furance plant in Hamilton, Ontario.
