Global steel output growth gains momentum in September

Crude steel production in the 64 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) rose 2.9% on-year in September to 156.36 million tonnes, gaining momentum from the 0.6% on-year August growth, Kallanish notes. Chinese output continued its relentless growth, rising 10.9% to 92.56mt. South Korea joined the list of countries to see a rebound in output, which rose 2.1% to 5.83mt. Indian and Japanese production however fell -2.9% and -19.3% respectively …
